1996 ortho imagery. This image data set was compiled using Digital Photogrammetric techniques and Aerial Photography acquired in January 1996 and is one of the image data sets compiled as part of the Tallahassee-Leon County GIS Inter-local 1996 Landbase Update Project. The primary contractor for this project was ADR Associates of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The project was conducted in two phases. The phase 1 area is an irregular shaped area which includes the Tallahassee City Limits south to Woodville and the southern boundary of Leon County. The Phase 2 area includes the remaining portion of Leon County. The Phase 1 area was flown at an altitude of 4200 feet producing a nominal photo scale of 1:8400 (1" = 700 feet). The Phase 2 area was flown at a higher altitude of 8400 feet producing a nominal photo scale of 1:16,800 (1" = 1400 feet). Imagery re-sampled to 0.5 ft ground resolution for this data set. Supplemental Information 1. The base96 Digital Ortho Imagery should be used for applications compatible with 1:1,200 (1" = 100 ft)and 1:2,400 (1" = 200 ft) map scales. 2. Ground features will not be visible in areas of dense tree cover or by heavy shadows. In urban areas relief displacement of tall structures may obscure ground features in these areas.

Positional accuracy of the image is dependent on the accuracy of the DTM data used in the rectification process. Accuracy may be reduced in areas of dense tree cover, or in areas of abrupt changes in terrain. This is not a "true" ortho image. That is to say that the building tops were not orthorectified. NOTE: This product has been compiled from the most accurate source data from Leon County, the City of Tallahassee, and the Leon County Property Appraiser's Office. However, this product is for reference purposes only and is not to be construed as a legal document or survey instrument. Any reliance on the information contained herein is at the user's own risk.
